Somerset have confirmed the return of Migael Pretorius as one of their overseas players for the 2027 season. He will be available across all three formats for the duration of the summer.
South African allrounder Pretorius has been a regular at Taunton since 2024. He played 13 out of 14 matches in the County Championship last season, taking 37 wickets at 28.83 to go with two half-centuries as Somerset finished second in Division One.
Overall, he has claimed 106 wickets for the club across formats, alongside scoring seven fifties, and helped Somerset to lift the T20 Blast title for the second time in three years in 2025.
"I love playing for Somerset. I couldn't have been made to feel more welcome over the last few years and it's great to be a part of this special group," Pretorius said.
"Somerset has become a second home for my family and I'm looking forward to repaying the faith that the club and the supporters have shown in me. It was incredible to win a trophy in 2025 and hopefully we can do that again in 2027."
Andy Hurry, Somerset's director of cricket, added: "Over the last few years, Migael has become a key component of this squad both on and off the field. He instantly bought into the club culture and has demonstrated on a number of occasions across the formats that he can positively impact matches for us with the ball and the bat.
"His quality and experience will be valuable tools for us in 2027, and he will once again add depth and quality to our squads."
