It was anything but cheesy. The Milwaukee Brewers advanced to the World Series for only the second time after sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS at Dodger Stadium on Thursday. The Brewers finished off the Dodgers, 6-4, in Game 4.
The Brewers exacted sweet revenge on the Dodgers, who eliminated them in last year's NLCS in four games.
MLB legend David Ortiz, who covered the game for FOX Sports, tipped his hat—a familiar one—to Milwaukee after securing the pennant.
“Let me enjoy my moment, man!” said Ortiz.
The Cheesehead has been associated with the Brewers since 1987. It was created by an entrepreneur from couch foam after being inspired by a fan's cardboard wedge during a game between Milwaukee and the Chicago White Sox. Wisconsin is known for its dairy products.
The Brewers will face the winner of the ALCS between the Cleveland Guardians and the Tampa Bay Rays. The Guardians lead the series, 3-2.
More details to come.
