Justin Hood, wearing a black and blue shirt, throws a dart at the World Championship

Darts cult hero Justin Hood is still hoping to fulfil his dream of owning a Chinese restaurant - but he may need Luke Littler's help.

Hood remarkably won £100,000 at the PDC World Darts Championship last year by reaching the quarter-finals.

The 33-year-old from Somerset was playing in the tournament at Alexandra Palace for the first time in his career.

He instantly became a fan favourite, revealing after a first-round win over Nick Kenny that he wanted to own a Chinese restaurant.

Hood wanted to earn £60,000 to achieve his dream, but he went much further than he would have ever expected, winning four games, including a whitewash against 11th seed Josh Rock.

Gary Anderson stopped his incredible run at Ally Pally at the quarter-final stage, with Hood bowing out with a whopping £100,000.

It meant he smashed his target and the Chinese restaurant looked to be on the way for 'Pocket Rocket', formerly known as 'Happy Feet'.

However, it doesn't seem he's any closer to owning one, as he admitted he still needs some more money.

What has Hood said about his Chinese restaurant?

"It was the goal, it's still the goal," Hood told Oche 180.

"After we paid our management and all taxes, I was left with a lot less than I thought I would be, but it's still the goal at some point."

Hood told talkSPORT at the World Darts Championship in December that Luke Humphries would buy into the venture with him.

And he was asked whether that was still the case, as he now needs a bit of help with the cash, with Luke Littler also hinting that he wants to be a part of it too at the start of the year.

"Luke Humphries, Luke Littler, they both want to get involved, but I can't trust them around my food," Hood said.

"[The dream team would be] me, both Lukes, probably Nathan [Aspinall], he's a good laugh."

What did Littler say on Hood's venture?

Littler's involvement would of course bring plenty of extra funds, with the back-to-back world champion breaking an all-time record for prize money this year.

"Well, as long as I make money, then yeah, let's do it," the teenage World No.1 said on joining Hood's dream Chinese restaurant.

"No one knows this, but one of my good mates, Joe, he and his dad have got a few horses. I backed out of that one.

"But yeah, imagine running a Chinese with Justin Hood.

"We'll see, we'll see."
