After months of waiting around and seeing rumors emerge, Netflix has now confirmed the much-awaited Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury fight for later this year. The fight is now set to take place on Dec. 11, 2026, at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
A few weeks ago, UFC president Dana White claimed to have a significant role in promoting and producing the Fury vs. Joshua fight. However, Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn publicly disagreed with White's alleged involvement. This soon followed a back-and-forth banter between the two, with the Misfits Boxing co-founder also suggesting a match between the two.
While White insists on his involvement in the fight, Hearn continues to claim that the UFC President is contractually barred from having any involvement in the Joshua vs. Fury boxing match.
Eddie Hearn has been Joshua’s promoter since he made his professional debut in 2013. Joshua's contract for his fight with Fury is believed to specifically state that Dana White cannot be involved in the event.
“Under our contract, he can’t. So that’s really where we stand on it. Sela has confirmed to us in writing that Dana White and the UFC are not doing the production for this show. So, we have to go through the same process, blah blah blah.
“We will speak to Netflix and guess what? Whisper, the production company that did the production for Fury/Makhmudov, they have a contract to do the production for Fury vs. AJ on Netflix,” Hearn said while speaking on iFL TV on YouTube.
Article Continues BelowHearn finished by claiming that if White and the UFC want to speak with him regarding changing the contract about the production, he is open to a conversation. Despite the disagreements, the fight is still on for Dec. 2026.
