On Thursday afternoon, the Chicago Cubs hit the field at home vs the Miami Marlins. The matchup marked the final home game of the regular season for the Cubs, giving fans their last chance to see NL MVP candidate Pete Crow-Armstrong before the playoffs arrive.
PCA made sure to give the fans their money's worth by making some MLB history on Thursday, stealing a base early on to become the 77th player in MLB history to record 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in the same season, per the MLB on X, formerly Twitter.

The fans in attendance were sure to give Crow-Armstrong a huge standing ovation in the wake of the epic play.
Article Continues BelowThe historic feat comes amid what has been a historically dominant 2026 season for PCA, keeping the Cubs afloat throughout their inconsistent first few months of the season and now having them looking like a legit World Series title threat as the playoffs loom.
Among his most notable moments were a game in which he hit a leadoff home run and a walkoff home run in the same game, along with many other memorable accomplishments throughout the year.
The Cubs currently sit at 87-71 on the season and are poised for the Wild Card round, where they have a decent chance of facing off against the Atlanta Braves in the opening round.
The Cubs will have one more series, on the road this weekend vs the Boston Red Sox, before the Wild Card round gets underway early next week.
