The Dallas Cowboys recently got into the win column for the first time this season with a blowout home victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. The Cowboys now sit at 1-1 as they prepare to head to Brazil for this week's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, who also sit at 1-1.
Fans have been concerned about the field conditions in Rio, which have been an issue for the NFL in previous games played there, but one person not worried about the prospect is Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
“I’m comfortable that the field will be ready for us. They’ve had lot of rain down there but the conditions there are not concerning to me right now. It’s realistic we can have a good game on the field,” said Jones, per 105.3 The FAN, via Todd Archer of ESPN NFL Nation on X, formerly Twitter.
Field conditions in Brazil, particularly during 2024's game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers, were a major talking point, as quarterback Jordan Love went down with an injury in that game that some blamed on the turf.
Meanwhile, the turf vs grass debate was a major talking point this summer when NFL stadiums, including the Cowboys' home of AT&T Stadium, that routinely use turf switched them out for grass to accommodate the FIFA World Cup, only to then revert back to turf ahead of the NFL season.
The Cowboys will have to bring their A-game on Sunday against a Ravens team that will be hungry for a bounce-back after their ugly home loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
