Star quarterback Dak Prescott is looking forward to having standout cornerback Joey Porter Jr. on the defense for the rest of the Dallas Cowboys' 2026 campaign.
Porter began the season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, sitting out team drills amid a contract dispute over an extension. He missed the first three games of the campaign as Pittsburgh ended up trading him to Dallas for a 2028 second-round pick and a conditional 2027 sixth-round pick on Sept. 30.
Prescott spoke with media on Thursday, per reporter Todd Archer. He had high remarks to share about Porter, seeing certain traits that will elevate the overall play on the defensive side of the ball.
“He's a good corner. He's the guy that can play physical, play man to man and take a receiver away, shut a side down. And now to have that on our side, playmaker when the ball's in the air. I know he went and got one on me on almost a 50-50 ball that he didn't make it seem that way at all. And when you've got a guy like that with ball skills and hunger for the ball, you want him on your team. I'm so glad we have him,” Prescott said.
