The Washington Commanders dropped a 24-22 Week 1 game to the Philadelphia Eagles that led to a blunt four-word response from receiver Stefon Diggs, who was hit with a costly late celebration penalty. Coach Dan Quinn's team is ready to turn the page against the Cowboys in Week 2 but will have to play without a key linebacker according to the latest injury report.

On September 19, news broke from the NFL about a fine that has been handed down as a result of Diggs' celebration penalty. The Commanders wideout will be forced to pay over $10,000 for his actions according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

The fine is a drop in the bucket for Diggs, who signed a one-year, $8 million deal this offseason with incentives giving him the opportunity to make as much as $12 million. Diggs will attempt to redeem himself against what figures to be a hungry Brian Schottenheimer, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lab led Cowboys team in Week 2. He will need quarterback Jayden Daniels to play better after an uneven outing in Week 1.

Daniels and Diggs also need support from the offensive line, which has been banged up lately. The Commanders' o-line was fortified recently with the signing of a new player who has over 60 games of experience.

Diggs knows he messed up, and Daniels called him out on it afterward. The Commanders have the talent to overcome their tough Week 1 loss, but it's going to take a team effort and disciplined, focused play to get the job done against what figures to be a desperate Cowboys team.
