Dan Quinn tried to keep the fans' confidence with a message following the Washington Commanders' 30-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in London on Sunday.
Quinn has been the Commanders' head coach since 2024, leading the team to the playoffs his first year there. They reached the NFC Championship game amid an incredible rookie campaign from quarterback Jayden Daniels.
However, they missed the playoffs the following year due to injuries and are off to a slow start to the 2026 season. They fell to 1-3 after the loss to the Colts, but Quinn tried to reassure the Washington fanbase that they will be better.
“We are built for this and will focus on next week against the Giants,” Quinn said.
Unfortunately, fans aren't fully buying into the message given the team's recent shortcomings. Here are some of their reactions.
“It never made sense that we brought him in. Was a perennial mediocre coach in Atlanta. Jayden carried his tenure in 2024. Should've let his a** go last year but we are run by a bunch of sissies,” one fan said.
“He’s all Coach Speak at this point. Nothing insightful to say. He’s out of ideas and will soon be out of a job. It’s a damn shame. I thought we had something special after 2024,” another remarked.
“LMFAO no you’re not .. we are not built for this.. we never have been since 1990,” one commented.
“I really hate to be a negative fan but what exactly is the team built for? We are 1-3 in the 1st quarter. Is he going 3+ the rest of the season,” one replied.
Quinn and the Commanders need solutions to shake off the 1-3 start. However, the seat might get hotter from here on out if the struggles continue.
The Commanders will look to bounce back in their next matchup, being at home. They host the New York Giants in Week 5 as kickoff commences on Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. ET.
