Want to get rich? Bet your house, car, life savings, and soul on the Washington Commanders against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
That is, if you have full faith in Amik Robertson.
The Commanders are struggling with a 1-4-1 record. They are coming off a bye week after losing to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6. Their offense has been predictable and their execution has been lacking. Still, Robertson was confident enough to make a clear prediction before facing the Eagles.
“We definitely need to win this game, and we will. We gotta be detailed. We have to practice hard. We gotta focus on all the little things. Stop making repeated mistakes. Execute at a high level,” said Robertson in the video posted by 7News DC's Scott Abraham.
When Abraham noted that it sounded like a guarantee, Robertson did not bat an eyelash.
“It has to be,” added the 28-year-old cornerback. “We have to win the rest of these games if we wanna go where we wanna go.”
The veteran defender added that he remains confident in the work they do, especially in the film room. But he also acknowledged that they have to be better on the field.
“Our record speaks to that. We can't run from them. All we can do is respond and fix the s*** in the second half of the season,” said Robertson.
The Commanders will try to bury the Eagles, who have low morale amid the season-ending setback to Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley still out with a hamstring injury, and the front office being probed by the NFL and the NFL Players Association.
Robertson has been solid in his first season in Washington, logging 28 solo tackles, one forced fumble, and eight passes defended.
