The Washington Commanders are currently gearing up for their upcoming home game against the New York Giants. The Commanders are coming off an ugly loss to the Indianapolis Colts in England, one in which they were down to their third-string quarterback after Marcus Mariota went down with an injury.
Mariota had been starting in place of the injured Jayden Daniels, who suffered a dislocated elbow in Week 2 vs the Dallas Cowboys in gruesome fashion, but now, the team has gotten a positive update on the former Offensive Rookie of the Year's status heading into Week 5.
“Jayden Daniels throwing again today. Expected to be a full participant in practice,” reported John Keim of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.
Some were surprised when Daniels opted not to have surgery after dislocating his elbow against the Cowboys in a play that was so gruesome that it caused commentator Tom Brady to curse live on the air.
Injuries have started to pile up at an alarming rate for Daniels dating back to last year, with the star injuring the same elbow and missing several games as a result during the 2025 season.
Article Continues BelowWhen he's on the field, Daniels remains one of the most dynamic playmakers in the NFL both as a passer and a runner, although questions about how much damage he can sustain behind Washington's patchwork offensive line are certainly worth considering.
In any case, the Commanders are next set to take the field for a divisional matchup at home against the Giants, who have also dealt with QB injury concerns so far this year. Kickoff for that game is set for 1:00 pm ET in Landover.
