The Washington Commanders fell short against the Philadelphia Eagles, 24-22, in their season opener on Sunday, with their two-point attempt in the final minute getting stuffed.

Jayden Daniels tried his best to carry the Commanders, throwing 18-of-34 for 164 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions, but the Eagles proved to be too much.

The offensive line could use another piece, and Washington is set to add a seasoned one in Lucas Patrick. He will join the 53-man roster, according to The Ringer's Tom Pelissero.

“Patrick has 65 career starts over 10 NFL seasons, adding experienced depth for Washington,” wrote Pelissero on X.

Last season, the 33-year-old offensive lineman appeared in six games for the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Commanders will be his fifth team after also playing for the Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Bears, and the New Orleans Saints.

The offensive line was dealt a major blow in training camp after Laremy Tunsil suffered a triceps injury. He is out indefinitely. Nick Allegretti, meanwhile, is still recovering from his calf injury, although he already saw action against the Eagles.
