The Indianapolis Colts have signed wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. and veteran punter Thomas Morstead to their practice squad, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon. The organization also released rookie wide receiver Eli Pancol from the practice squad as part of the roster moves.
Hardman joins Indianapolis after spending time with the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets and Green Bay Packers. The 28-year-old was originally selected by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, 56th overall, out of Georgia.
Across 82 regular-season games, including 28 starts, Hardman has amassed 178 receptions for 2,302 yards and 16 touchdowns. He has also contributed 190 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries.
Hardman has experience as a return specialist, logging 1,134 yards and one touchdown on 46 kickoff returns, along with 823 yards and one touchdown on 91 punt returns. He earned Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors as a return specialist during his rookie season in 2019.
Hardman most recently played for the Bills, appearing in two games last season. He did not record a reception on his lone target, while returning two punts for four yards and one kickoff for 61 yards.
He also brings considerable postseason experience to the Colts, having appeared in 15 playoff games and racked up 28 receptions for 292 yards and four touchdowns. Hardman won three Super Bowl championships with Kansas City, including Super Bowls LIV, LVII and LVIII.

Across 272 career games, Morstead has punted 1,004 times for 46,863 yards, averaging 46.7 yards per punt. He has placed 374 punts inside the 20-yard line and earned Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro recognition in 2012 while playing for the New Orleans Saints. He also won Super Bowl XLIV with the Saints.
The Colts' latest roster changes also bring Pancol's most recent stint with the franchise to a close. The 26-year-old rejoined Indianapolis' practice squad on September 23 after previously signing with the team in November 2025. He participated in the Colts' offseason program and training camp in 2026 but has not appeared in an NFL game.
