Coach Shane Steichen's Indianapolis Colts are reeling after a 42-7 blowout loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars that saw DJ Giddens lead the team in rushing and a call for Jonathan Taylor to demand a trade afterward. Steichen made a cryptic comment on the starting QB race and chose Daniel Jones over Anthony Richardson with his team preparing for the Cowboys in Week 9.

On Monday, November 2, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN shared his latest intel on the Colts' situation ahead of the upcoming trade deadline as he shared rumors about what they might demand in a deal for Taylor.

“The Indianapolis Colts are at least listening to offers now for Jonathan Taylor and open to dealing him. Now what they look like is a Christian McCaffrey type package, which would be, a two, a three, a four (draft picks), and potentially more. Remains to be seen whether or not they'll be able to get it, it is a hefty price to pay, there are some other running backs who could potentially be available if Jonathan Taylor is too pricey,” Fowler added, mentioning Tony Pollard of the Tennessee Titans as one.

Taylor has 610 yards rushing with eight touchdowns so far this season. He had just 23 yards against the Jaguars as the team tried out Giddens in his place. Taylor sent a stern message to his Colts teammates after the loss and remains committed to playing in Indianapolis, but it sounds as if fortunes might change based on Fowler's comments.

The former Wisconsin star is one of the NFL's best running backs, and should thrive wherever he goes. If the Colts do trade him, he will be missed, but there is a strong feeling around Steichen's team that major changes need to be made as the trade deadline approaches.
