The Indianapolis Colts are getting a tough injury update, after a big win over the Washington Commanders. Indianapolis will have to play for a while without one of their top defensive players.

“Colts pass rusher Arden Key is expected to miss about 3-4 weeks with a hamstring injury, per sources,” ESPN's Jeremy Fowler posted to X, formerly Twitter. “Head coach Shane Steichen said Monday that Key, a starter, would miss ‘some time.’”

The Colts defensive lineman was injured in the team's last game, which was that win over the Commanders.

“In his absence, JT Tuimoloau and Caden Curry will stand to see an increase in opportunities on the defensive line versus the Steelers in Week 5,” CBS Sports reported.

The Colts are 2-2 this season. Indianapolis has won back-to-back games over the Commanders and Houston Texans. The defense has been an issue for the Colts; Indianapolis has allowed 104 total points this season.

Key is dealing with a hamstring injury. This season he has eight total tackles in four games. He also has posted a forced fumble this year. This loss certainly puts pressure on the Colts' other defensive linemen, to step up and get pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Key's loss was about the only bad thing that came out of that victory over the Commanders. The two teams played in London. Indianapolis has seen a lot of success playing in international games.

“With Sunday's win in London, the Colts have now won three consecutive international games: in Frankfurt (2023), Berlin (2025) and London (2026). More importantly, the victory pushed the Colts back to .500 as the first quarter of the 2026 season came to a close,” the team reported.

The Colts are next in action against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Pittsburgh also comes into the game with a 2-2 record on the campaign.
