The Bengals lost to Jacksonville 22-17 on Sunday at Paycor Stadium, bringing their record to 2-2 for the 2026 NFL season. Even with the loss, Burrow put up big numbers, passing for 428 yards and one touchdown on 39 completions out of 54 attempts. But his two interceptions hurt the Bengals’ chances.
After the game, Burrow was asked about how the Bengals split their running and passing plays. His answer surprised some people.

The Bengals ended Sunday’s game with 54 pass attempts and only 15 rushing attempts. Their running game managed just 23 yards, which made it hard for the offense to stay balanced against Jacksonville.
Even though the running game struggled, Burrow still trusts Cincinnati’s passing attack. Wide receiver Tee Higgins had a big day, catching 11 passes for 157 yards.

This loss was Cincinnati’s second straight, after a Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Next, the Bengals will face the Miami Dolphins in Week 5 as they try to get back on track.
Burrow’s comments show that Cincinnati may not plan to throw less. Instead, he thinks the team can keep relying on his passing to move the offense.
