The Kansas City Chiefs are currently gearing up for their Week 2 game against the Indianapolis Colts. The Chiefs are coming off a dominant home win over the Denver Broncos to open up the season, with rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane picking off the first pass thrown by Denver quarterback Bo Nix, which resulted in a touchdown on the ensuing drive.

Unfortunately, Delane was forced to leave the game due to a shoulder injury sustained on the play, and now, head coach Andy Reid has given the latest update on his status for Week 2.

“There's a pretty good chance” that Mansoor Delane plays, said Reid, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport on X, formerly Twitter.

It would certainly be a positive development for Kansas City if Delane was able to give it a go against a Colts offense that was among the most electric in the NFL last year before Daniel Jones went down with injury.

Delane was selected number six overall by the Chiefs after they traded up to draft him out of LSU, immediately helping replenish a cornerback room that was left in disarray after both Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson ended up on the Los Angeles Rams via various avenues this offseason.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs are hoping that Patrick Mahomes takes another step forward after a shaky first game back at the helm following his offseason ACL recovery.

In any case, the Chiefs and Colts are slated to kick things off on Sunday at 8:20 pm ET from Kansas City, hopefully with Delane back in the lineup.
