The Minnesota Lynx come into Game 2 of their opening round playoff series against the New York Liberty facing elimination after dropping Game 1 at home. But for Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve, she isn’t feeling much pressure despite the circumstances, as per The Local W.

With the Lynx needing a win in Game 2 to keep their season alive, Cheryl Reeve downplayed any notion that the she feels any additional pressure as coach, with a classic mic drop about her illustrious career to this point.

“I’m already in the Hall of Fame, I feel no pressure,” Reeve responded. “Not that my goal in life was to be in the Hall of Fame. But I’ve run my race, and now I just want to be the best version of myself for the players, to have what we have now. So, I don’t feel any pressure. The only pressure I feel is just trying to be great for them.”

Earlier this year, Reeve was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, and she is a lock for the Naismith Hall of Fame once she retires from coaching. She is the longest-tenured head coach in the WNBA, and this season she became the league’s all-time winningest coach. Reeve was also named the 2026 WNBA Coach of the Year, the fifth time she’s taken home the honors.

She’s led the Lynx to four WNBA championships in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017, but the task that befalls her now is to win Game 2 and avoid elimination in the opening round.
