Jacoby Brissett's extensive NFL experience made him an attractive target for the Baltimore Ravens, as they have been dealing with multiple injuries in their quarterback room. However, Brissett's departure from the Arizona Cardinals follows a disappointing stretch with the franchise, and Arizona head coach Mike LaFleur has remained cautious when addressing the veteran quarterback's potential exit.

During a press conference, LaFleur avoided any detailed comments while saying that the situation was still being handled through the appropriate process.

“Start with obviously the news out of respect for the process and just working to get stuff finalized,” LaFleur said. “I mean, I really don't have much of a comment on it, but we're going to let the process play out with that.”

Brissett entered the season with an opportunity to establish himself as Arizona's starting quarterback. However, his inconsistent performances ultimately cost him the position. The veteran recorded 10 touchdown passes and seven interceptions for the Cardinals so far this season.

The Cardinals also have a financial incentive to move on from Brissett. Arizona reworked his contract during the offseason, and trading him would allow the franchise to move forward with its new quarterback hierarchy while creating an opportunity to reshape its roster.

Meanwhile, the move comes at a difficult time for the Ravens, who suddenly find themselves dealing with a depleted quarterback room.

Lamar Jackson suffered a thumb injury that is expected to require surgery and could sideline him for the remainder of the season. Meanwhile, Tyler Huntley is also set to miss the rest of the season after sustaining a turf toe injury.

With both experienced quarterbacks unavailable, Baltimore has been forced to turn to undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano. However, acquiring Brissett would give the franchise another experienced option on their roster.

However, reportedly, the Ravens are targeting Brissett to potentially take over as their starting quarterback when they face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10.
