The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka, scheduled for December 13, has been moved from Delhi to Visakhapatnam.
This would have been the first ODI in Delhi since the 2023 World Cup but was shifted after a request from the DDCA, in view of the potential weather disruption and proposed renovation work at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium will now host the game.
The last time Delhi hosted an international game in December was in 2017, when India played a Test against Sri Lanka. During that match, several Sri Lanka players came out to field wearing masks because of air pollution.
Sri Lanka will play three ODIs and as many T20Is during the upcoming tour. The second T20I will be played in Bengaluru and the third in Ahmedabad. The ODIs will be played in Rajkot, Cuttack and Pune.
Currently, Sri Lanka are in Pakistan for a two-match Test series starting November 9, while India are in New Zealand for a five-match ODI series followed by two Tests.
