The Chicago Bulls are anxious to get the season going. Nobody more so, arguably, than Caleb Wilson. Already, the No.4 pick in the NBA Draft is generating plenty of buzz. Wilson is aware of the expectations he faces.
And yet, he has demonstrated a wisdom beyond his years that has endeared him to Chicagoans even more; he has even officially suited up. On Monday, the Bulls held their Media Day for the 2026-27 season at the United Center.
Wilson was first in line amongst the players. He showcased that maturity and determination to be the best player he can be. Going as far as saying he doesn't want to “blend in”, but rather lead by example as a rookie.
Then, Wilson was asked by ClutchPoints of what enables him to be as he said a “process guy” more than an “outcome guy”. He cited a specific text he consumes regularly: The Daily Stoic by the philosopher Stoic, which provides guidance on wisdom and meditation.
“I read Stoicism very often,” Wilson said. “That's kind of one of the main points of it: you control what you control. I can't control whether the shot goes in, but I can control everything I do to try to make it go in. That's just how I've come to think as of late. With that kind of mindset, you can't really get too mad at things because I know if I prepare for something, the outcome is from that.”
