The Cleveland Browns have a problem at the quarterback position. That is because the Browns have a large stable of young quarterbacks at the moment, including Shedeur Sanders. Sanders is getting mentioned as a possible trade candidate ahead of this year's deadline by ESPN.
“Shedeur Sanders could be interesting to teams looking for a developmental QB who needs a change of scenery,” ESPN posted to X, formerly Twitter.
Sanders is currently sitting for the Browns because Cleveland quarterback Deshaun Watson is on a hot streak. Cleveland just defeated their AFC North rival the Pittsburgh Steelers, to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Sanders is not the only trade candidate the Browns have on the roster. ESPN's Dan Graziano also believes Cleveland wide receiver Jerry Jeudy could be traded before the trade deadline.
The NFL trade deadline this season is November 10.
Deshaun Watson is rolling for the Browns right now

Watson threw for 268 passing yards and a touchdown, to lift Cleveland to a 27-24 win over Pittsburgh. The quarterback is establishing himself as the team's reliable starter.
“Cleveland tallied 22 first downs, its most in a game this season. On third down, the Browns converted four of 10 attempts, including (Harold) Fannin's second-quarter touchdown that came on third-and-goal,” the team reported.
Watson clearly held the reins of the Browns offense all day.
“The Browns' offense recorded a season-high 372 net yards against the Steelers. In the second quarter alone, the Browns tallied 191 yards with three touchdowns. Cleveland finished the game with 260 net passing yards and 112 net rushing yards,” the team reported.
That may mean Sanders needs to move. The Browns quarterback has yet to post any passing stats this season, although he did complete a pass for the team. In 2025, Sanders posted 1,400 passing yards in eight games. He threw seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
The Browns next play the New York Jets on October 11.
