Giants defensive end Brian Burns was expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Titans with an ankle injury, but he was able to play long enough to suffer another injury.
Burns had to leave the game with a knee injury and head coach John Harbaugh said after the game that Burns will have an MRI to determine the extent of the injury. Harbaugh also said at his press conference that there’s “some hope” that Burns avoided a severe injury.
That’s much more measured than Giants General Manager Joe Schoen managed to be last Monday when quarterback Jaxson Dart hurt his knee. Schoen told ESPN that Dart would be OK when Dart actually suffered a season-ending knee injury.
The Giants will be hoping Burns avoided a similar fate after moving to 2-1 with a 12-7 win over Tennessee on a dreary day in New Jersey.
