The Milwaukee Brewers have done it. After a 42-year wait, the Brewers are back in the World Series after sending the reigning champion Los Angeles Dodgers home with a 6-4 victory in Game 4 of the NLCS to complete the sweep. Milwaukee has pulled off another postseason comeback, as they came roaring back after falling down by four runs after just two innings, and now, they have some time to rest as they await the winner of the ALCS clash between the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians.

This Brewers team was the best in MLB in 2026. They won 103 games and clinched homefield advantage throughout the postseason, so it's not like this was a major surprise. But until further notice, the Dodgers were the team to beat. After all, they had won two consecutive World Series titles. And yet, there Milwaukee was, returning the favor to LA by sweeping them a year after they were eliminated in four games in the NLCS.

The Brewers are brimming with confidence. They may not have the big names like the Dodgers do, as manager Pat Murphy said during the Brewers' NL pennant celebration. But they have players who will fight until the very end. Now, they're only four wins away from the franchise's first World Series title.

“They may have a bunch of Hall of Famers, but we’ve got a bunch of gamers,” Murphy said, per Curt Hogg of Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Indeed, this Brewers team is never out of a game. In fact, they arguably play their best baseball when they fall behind. It's as if letting the other team score ignites a fire and flips a switch in them.

The job, of course, is far from over. Either the Rays or Guardians won't be mere pushovers. But the Brewers have been motivated all season long, and at this point, it's hard to envision anything that would stand in the way of their quest of winning their first World Series title.
