The Milwaukee Brewers won the World Series on Wednesday. Starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski and catcher William Contreras played crucial roles for the team all season long. The Miz is probably going to win the National League Cy Young Award, while Contreras earned the World Series MVP. Following Milwaukee's Fall Classic victory, MLBPA shared a video of Misiorowski giving Contreras an attention-grabbing shoutout.

“I mean, it's easy to say William,” Misiorowski responded when asked if anyone in the Brewers' clubhouse especially impacted his 2026 performance. “… You know, he's there every outing it feels like. He's there motivating me through. You know, even when I'm not on the field, he's still giving me pointers of like, ‘Hey, did you see this swing off this guy? We should do that next time you come out.'

“That dude's always grinding, always doing something to help the pitchers out… Obviously I'm just one of the six guys we have starting, and I think every single one of our guys would say the exact same thing… That dude has worked his a** off all year.”

The MLBPA account put it perfectly in their caption, writing, “The bond between pitcher and catcher is like no other.”

It's true. It can become easy to get lost in the numbers, but the relationship between a pitcher and a catcher impacts performance in an undeniable manner. They help each other out. Who knows if Misiorowski would have had the season he did if Contreras wasn't the everyday catcher?

The Miz, of course, deserves credit for his incredible season. I mean, the guy throws 104 MPH. Still, Contreras' prowess behind the plate clearly helped Misiorowski out.
