Philadelphia Phillies manager Don Mattingly was getting lambasted for starting Aaron Nola over Zack Wheeler in Thursday's do-or-die National League Wild Card clash, but it turns out the Atlanta Braves are capable of punishing anyone on this night. Michael Harris II crushed a three-run home run off Nola in the first inning, and then Ozzie Albies further exhilarated the home crowd in Truist Park by hitting a two-run, 419-foot bomb off Wheeler in the fourth.
The four-time All-Star second baseman is elevating his play in the postseason after another uneven campaign, and as a result, Atlanta took a comfortable 5-0 lead into the fifth inning. Albies now has four home runs during his playoffs career.
