Atlanta Braves left-hander Dylan Dodd will start Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday, giving the Braves their answer after entering the day without an announced starter. The 28-year-old will work as an opener in a bullpen game at Dodger Stadium.

MLB.com’s Mark Bowman shared news of the decision Saturday on X, formerly Twitter, after earlier noting that Atlanta was still weighing its Game 1 options. Dodd gets the assignment as Atlanta manages a rotation thinned by injuries and recent Wild Card usage. Chris Sale is lined up for Game 2, and Tyler Mahle is not available before Game 3.
