Brandon Aiyuk will not play for the 49ers again, but his future is in question.

The wide receiver arrived at the team’s business offices in a van with his agent Friday afternoon to meet with the 49ers and presumably negotiate a resolution.

“Obviously, Brandon is here to meet with the team,” Drew Rosenhaus, Aiyuk’s agent, said before the meeting, via video from David Lombardi of SF Standard. “Fortunately, he’s feeling good physically. He’s healthy. He’s ready to get back to work. Don’t really have any comment about where he’s going to play. We’ll keep that between us and the Niners. But obviously we’re here with all the right intentions.”

Aiyuk last played in a game on Oct. 20, 2024, when he tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee. The relationship between the team and the player fell apart after that, and the 49ers voided the guaranteed money due to his unwillingness to rehab at their facility.

The 49ers placed him on the reserve/left squad list on Dec. 13, 2025. Rosenhaus filed a reinstatement request on Oct. 27, but the NFL still hasn’t reinstated him.

“Nice to see you all,” Aiyuk said. “I’m feeling great, feeling healthy. It was a long recovery process, a long rehab process. But I’m back to 100 percent and looking to get reinstated into the National Football League.”

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said earlier in the day he "[couldn’t] care less” how the meeting went since “it’s been over for our football team for a long time.”
