The Bears ran the ball effectively throughout the first half on Sunday and Kyle Monangai has helped them pick up where they left off.

After D’Andre Swift lost a fumble to set up a Jets field goal early in the third quarter, the Bears turned to Monangai and he ran for 22 yards on their next possession. The last five of them resulted in his second touchdown of the afternoon and the Bears are now up 20-6 with under three minutes left in the third.

Swift’s fumble gave the Jets the ball on Chicago’s 28-yard-line, but a third down incompletion forced the Jets to settle for Jason Sanders’s second field goal of the day. The first field goal also came off a turnover — Minkah Fitzpatrick’s streak-busting interception — but the Jets have just 79 yards of offense and will need to find some kind of spark quickly to have any chance of improving to 2-2 on the season.

Monangai has 17 carries for 76 yards and quarterback Tyson Bagent is 21-of-27 for 225 yards for a Bears offense that hasn’t had much difficulty moving the ball.
