On Monday evening, the Chicago Bears continued their winning ways with a resounding road win over the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. This game marked the Bears debut of Jeffery Simmons, who recorded a sack on his very first play from scrimmage and was a monster throughout the evening.
The Bears acquired Simmons last week from the Tennessee Titans last week in a blockbuster move, but the latest intel from NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network suggests that Chicago might not be done swinging deals.
“Khalil Mack is a name that we discussed… The problem with that is that Joe Hortiz, the general manager of the Chargers, has shown no indication that he wants to sell at all… they like how Khalil Mack has helped the young edges and helped the locker room. It's bad there, but they do not want to give up on the season,” he said on ESPN, per his account on X, formerly Twitter.
The Los Angeles Chargers currently sit at 0-7, so it's unclear why they wouldn't want to cash in on some of their veteran pieces at the trade deadline as opposed to continuing to let them wither away amid their losing skid.

Although Mack isn't quite the same player he was during that run, he would still provide a lot of help for a Bears team that is looking to solidify its status as a Super Bowl contender.
The Bears will next hit the field on Sunday at home vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
