The Bears are going to have a new left tackle for Sunday’s game against the Jets and for several other games in the weeks to follow.

Braxton Jones was ruled out on Friday due to a knee injury and the Bears announced on Saturday that he has been placed on injured reserve. Theo Benedet will start against the Jets.

Ozzy Trapilo could also factor into the left tackle plans while Jones is out of commission. Trapilo closed out last season as the starter and has been working his way back from a torn patellar tendon.

The Bears also elevated defensive lineman Marcus Davenport and defensive back Nick McCloud from the practice squad on a temporary basis. They’ll revert back after Sunday’s game.
