The Seattle Seahawks will be without rookie running back Jadarian Price for at least four weeks after placing the first-round pick on injured reserve because of a chest injury.

As the Seahawks (2-1) look to bounce back from their 33-31 Week 3 loss to the Washington Commanders, Price will miss Sunday's matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers after aggravating the injury during practice this week.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the move Saturday via X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Seahawks are placing first-round pick, RB Jadarian Price, on injured reserve due to the chest injury he aggravated at practice this week,” Schefter wrote. “Price now will miss a minimum of four weeks.”

The injury interrupts Price's rookie season after he appeared in each of Seattle's first three games.

Seahawks lose Jadarian Price after solid start to rookie season

Price has recorded 28 carries for 119 rushing yards through three games, averaging 4.2 yards per attempt. He has also caught four passes for 21 yards, giving him 140 yards from scrimmage, although he has yet to score his first NFL touchdown. Price has also lost two fumbles.

The rookie opened his career with 52 rushing yards on 10 carries against the New England Patriots before adding another 52 yards on 13 attempts in Seattle's Week 2 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. His workload decreased against Washington, when he finished with 15 rushing yards on five carries and caught one pass for seven yards.

Seattle selected Price with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, adding another versatile option to its backfield.

Price's placement on injured reserve means he must miss at least four games before becoming eligible to return. His absence now forces Seattle to adjust its backfield rotation as the team attempts to avoid consecutive losses for the first time this season.

The Seahawks will begin that stretch without Price when they host the Chargers on Sunday at 1:25 p.m. PT.
