On Saturday evening, the Texas football program pulled off a comeback for the ages by rallying from 20 points down to defeat the Ohio State Buckeyes at home. It was a slow start but a strong finish for quarterback Arch Manning, who ended the game with 195 passing yards and a touchdown on 23-37 passing.

Manning is viewed by some to be a candidate for the number one overall pick in next year's NFL Draft, and although he certainly finished this game on a high note, it's at least worth considering whether this performance against Ohio State did more to help or hurt his professional stock overall.

Throughout much of the game against the Buckeyes, Manning looked rattled and indecisive in the pocket, going up against a defense flush with future NFL talent. This in some ways mirrored the rough performance that Manning had last year against Ohio State, although that game was on the road and in the first road start of his college football career.

It certainly says a lot about Manning that he was able to shake off the rough start on Saturday and help his team engineer their epic comeback, making some big plays down the stretch of the game and also extending plays with his legs.

Manning has also proven to be a strong leader for the Longhorns both on and off the field during his time at Austin, which is something that NFL scouts surely take note of.

Manning has some competition for the number one overall pick in the form of Oregon quarterback Dante Moore and others, so where he ends up landing will depend on how he fares for the rest of the year.

He definitely gave scouts some things to consider, both positive and negative, with his performance on Saturday against the Longhorns.
