The longtime girlfriend of Minnesota Timberwolves guard LaMelo Ball, Ana Montana (real name Analicia Chaves), has been arrested on Monday, September 28, on felony drug charges in North Carolina, according to booking records obtained by TMZ.
Montana was charged with felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery, plus two misdemeanor counts of simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. Police say that Montana had alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax, from Walgreens by filling prescriptions written using a doctor’s allegedly stolen DEA registration and medical provider ID.
She was held on a $20,000 bond for the felony charges.
“To clarify, the charges allege that a doctor who used a fraudulent DEA registration and NPI number prescribed Alprazolam for Ms. Chaves, and that she used the prescription written by the doctor to obtain the prescribed Alprazolam at a pharmacy,” Montana’s lawyer told the outlet.
“The drug possession charges appear to allege that she possessed the aforementioned Alprazolam upon obtaining it from the pharmacy via the prescription written by the doctor.”
Ball has not publicly spoken out about Montana's charges at this time.
The couple has been together since 2021 and they welcomed their first child together, La'One, in January.

The Timberwolves guard will be making his debut on his new team for his first preseason game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Oct. 5. He was traded from the Charlotte Hornets in June.
