The No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide suffered their first loss of the season after falling 20-17 to the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs in Week 6. Wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams got banged up in that game after being involved in two separate injury scares during the contest. However, the hit he took near the end of the matchup may have knocked him out of the Week 7 game vs. the No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer claimed that the junior wideout is deemed doubtful for the game against Tennessee. Coleman-Williams could potentially be out for longer than just one week, though, as the program believes he will be week-to-week after Week 7.
“Alabama WR Ryan Coleman-Williams is doubtful to play against Tennessee, Kalen DeBoer announced,” On3 Sports said on X. “‘Pretty good chance we wouldn't have him here this weekend,' DeBoer said. ‘Probably be week-to-week after that.'”
The 19-year-old wide receiver sustained an injury late in the second quarter after going up for a jump ball in the end zone. He couldn't put any weight on his left leg while leaving the field. However, he did return after halftime and seemed to have avoided a serious injury to his lower body.

He landed hard on the ground after Georgia defensive back Demello Jones broke up a pass. Alabama removed its star wideout from the game after that collision, and he did not return.
With Coleman-Williams unlikely to play against Tennessee, Alabama will have to rely on Rico Scott and Lotzeir Brooks in the passing game. Derek Meadows, Noah Rogers, and Tyler Henderson could each receive more playing time as well. Coleman-Williams has recorded 415 yards and two touchdowns on 23 receptions so far this season.
