Alabama football is scheduled to host Georgia on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The No. 6 Crimson Tide is set to welcome No. 2 Georgia to Tuscaloosa for the second time in three years. However, the potential impact of Tropical Storm Isaias has now placed the weather conditions surrounding the highly anticipated game under the spotlight.
Alabama Athletics released a statement on Tuesday addressing the developing situation and providing an update on whether Saturday’s SEC showdown could be affected by the weather.
“Alabama Athletics is closely monitoring the weather forecast ahead of Saturday’s football game against Georgia. At this time, there are no plans to alter the contest,” the announcement read.
The Crimson Tide also added that officials will continue monitoring the situation throughout the week. Alabama also urged fans to follow official channels for any future updates.
“The school will continue to monitor conditions throughout the week and remain in communication with the Southeastern Conference office, as needed. Fans are encouraged to rely on official Alabama Athletics and SEC channels for the latest information regarding Saturday’s game.”
Alabama isn't the only organization keeping a close eye on the forecast. The SEC has also acknowledged the potential weather concerns surrounding games this weekend.

Meteorologist James Spann has also cautioned that the weather may become a serious factor for Alabama and Georgia if the storm moves on a more direct course toward the Gulf Coast.
At the moment, Alabama-Georgia is still expected to go ahead as scheduled. However, if the forecast deteriorates in the coming days, both programs could be forced to explore the possibility of postponing the much-anticipated SEC clash.
