Just less than two months after his brain surgery in Aug. 2026, AEW and WWE legend Jim Ross is set to undergo another brain procedure. The AEW announcer recently announced that he'll be undergoing a second brain surgery on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026.

Ross hopes to undergo this second procedure in hopes of fixing some of the current issues he has been having. His initial surgery was to have a shunt inserted, which drained excess fluid from his brain to other parts of his body. The veteran noted that he has now been having headaches. He shared that having the shunt adjusted without surgery hasn't eased the situation.

“Getting another brain surgery Wednesday morning to address an issue with my shunt,” Ross said. “Positive thoughts appreciated. Thanks.”

Ross, 74, has been dealing with additional health issues, including healing from a pair of broken toes he sustained in a fall on the morning of his August surgery. Ross also has a spot on his kidney and some moles on his back that might be concerning, and both are being looked into.

Ross' brain shunt surgery was done to help with the memory and balance problems that have been impacting him. Ross claimed that before having the headaches, he felt like he was healing well and hoped to return to his AEW commentary role at this year's All Out PPV. However, that did not happen. He previously also hoped to attend the AEW All In PPV in London, UK. Unfortunately, his health conditions prevented him from doing that as well.
