Since former NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski joined St. Bonaventure as the team’s general manager, the goal has been to mold the Bonnies into a perennial contender in the Atlantic 10 Conference whether that’s via the transfer portal or through high school recruiting. And when it comes to high school recruits, St. Bonaventure recently landed a commitment from class of 2027 forward Isaiah Carpenter, as per Dushawn London of 247Sports.
Isaiah Carpenter’s commitment to St. Bonaventure gives the program their second commitment in the class of 2027, following Victor Aborowa’s decision back in September. Aborowa is the highest ranked recruit that the Bonnies have pulled in since the modern recruiting rankings.
Carpenter will finish up his senior year of high school at St. James Performance Academy this season. He will join St. Bonaventure for the 2027-28 season.
In the meantime, the Bonnies tipped off the 2026-27 season with a 79-71 loss to Youngstown State on Nov. 2. The Bonnies were led by guard Zach Philipkoski’s 28 points, three rebounds, four assists, two steals and one blocked shot. Center Benjamin Bill finished with 15 points and guard Taj Au-Duke added 12 points.

He was replaced with Mike MacDonald as the Bonnie’s new head coach. MacDonald had previously coached at the Division II and Division III levels, while also having a stint at Division I Canisius.
The Bonnies are coming off a 17-17 finish last year, and a fifth consecutive season of missing the NCAA Tournament.
