Jaylen Brown is coming off the best season of his career as the undisputed number one option for the Boston Celtics. Brown averaged 29/7/5 last season and led the Celtics to a 56-win campaign even though Jayson Tatum played just 16 games after returning from a ruptured Achilles tendon. All Brown got for his troubles was a trade to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Celtics' sworn rival, breaking up the vaunted Jays duo after nine seasons together.

Now, Brown has to be feeling a huge chip on his shoulder. He's also joining a stacked 76ers squad with Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and the NBA's all-time leading scorer in LeBron James, and one has to think that he is feeling a burning desire in his gut to stick it to the Celtics.

In fact, Brown may be locking in against the Celtics to the point of double-circling it on his calendar.

“All of them [are circled]. It's some that (are) double-circled too,” Brown told Chris Haynes during media day, via Legion Hoops on X.

The 76ers and Celtics will be facing off for the first time this upcoming season on November 10, with Philly being the home team. Brown will return to TD Garden for the first time as a member of the opposing team on January 21, 2027.

(The 76ers and Celtics will face each other twice in the preseason, but it's not clear if Brown will suit up for when Philly visits Boston on October 10 for an exhibition contest.)

Revenge games may mostly be a myth, but Brown thrives off of adversity and would want to show the Celtics what they're missing. But he has to be wary of doing too much, as he might end up forcing the issue just to make a point — much to the 76ers' demise.

Whatever the case may be, any 76ers-Celtics game this season is must-watch — if only to see how Brown will react to facing the team that traded him away.
