San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk received a hefty fine from the NFL following the team's dominant Week 1 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Australia.
The NFL fined Juszczyk $20,033 for unnecessary roughness and use of the helmet stemming from a third-quarter play in San Francisco's 27-7 victory over Los Angeles on Thursday Night Football last week.
According to the NFL's listing, Juszczyk's infraction occurred with 14:53 remaining in the third quarter. That timestamp corresponds with a 14-yard Christian McCaffrey run from the San Francisco 49-yard line to the Rams' 37-yard line.
The play came immediately after Deebo Samuel returned the second-half kickoff 45 yards, putting the 49ers in favorable field position. San Francisco then turned to its running game, with McCaffrey breaking off the 14-yard gain on the first offensive snap of the half.
Juszczyk was not the only 49ers player to receive a fine stemming from the season opener.

Tight end Jake Tonges was fined $9,266 for a leg whip earlier in the game. Tonges will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after suffering a torn MCL in his right knee.
Kyle Juszczyk among four players fined after 49ers-Rams matchup
The Rams also had two players receive fines from the NFL following the international matchup.
Los Angeles defensive lineman Tyler Davis received a $6,225 fine for roughing 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. The violation involved a blow to Purdy's head and neck area.
Rams linebacker Nate Landman was also fined $11,111 for unnecessary roughness and use of the helmet.
Juszczyk's penalty was the largest of the four fines issued from the Week 1 matchup. The veteran fullback remains an important part of San Francisco's offense because of his versatility as a blocker, runner and receiving option out of the backfield.
The 49ers ultimately left Australia with a convincing divisional victory to begin the 2026 season. San Francisco held Los Angeles to seven points while opening its schedule with a 1-0 record.
The 49ers will now return home and attempt to build on their Week 1 performance when they host the Miami Dolphins in Week 2. San Francisco and Miami are scheduled to kick off Sunday at 1:25 p.m. PT on FOX.
