San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk has accused Buffalo Bills defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson of spitting on him during a game last season. His allegation surfaced after Gardner-Johnson was ejected from a matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Juszczyk reacted to reports that Gardner-Johnson had been ejected following a spitting incident involving Raiders tight end Brock Bowers.
“This is the least surprising thing ever,” Juszczyk wrote on X.
“@CGJXXIII spit on me last year when we beat Chicago.”
The accusation refers to a December 2025 matchup against the Bears, when Gardner-Johnson was playing for Chicago.
Jyszczyk did not provide further details or indicate whether he reported the alleged incident to officials. Meanwhile, Gardner-Johnson's ejection came during Buffalo's 33-30 victory over Las Vegas on Sunday.
The defensive back was disqualified before halftime after officials determined he had spat toward an opposing player. Gardner-Johnson subsequently acknowledged his mistake and apologized for allowing his emotions to affect his team.
“I let my emotions get above me, and I hurt my team,” Gardner-Johnson said.
The Bills safety also admitted he needed to demonstrate better leadership moving forward.

For Juszczyk, the latest controversy apparently brought back memories of an encounter he believes crossed the line.
His reaction suggests he was hardly surprised to see Gardner-Johnson involved in another disputed on-field incident. The accusation adds further controversy to Gardner-Johnson's ejection as questions surrounding his contract continue to grow.
