The Philadelphia Eagles have had their 2026 season ravaged by injuries so far, most notably to starting quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts first reported a calf injury after Philly's Week 5 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, but it turned out that the former Super Bowl MVP was dealing with a blood clot.

Now, it appears that this injury is serious and could keep Hurts out for the rest of the season. Further imaging has revealed that Hurts has blood clots in his lungs, per Tom Pelissero of The Ringer and Netflix. Hurts is expected to make a full recovery and is on blood thinners, but he is unlikely to return to the field this season.

Hurts did not start the Eagles' 25-14 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Tanner McKee got the start and is expected to stay in that role moving forward with Hurts sidelined.
