The San Francisco 49ers lost Deebo Samuel in the third quarter of Sunday's 32-29 Week 5 win over the Seattle Seahawks after he suffered a hamstring issue. Reports on Monday suggest he's going to need some time to recover. However, the club also got an inspiring update on Nick Bosa's potential return.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan informed media members that the 30-year-old wide receiver is expected to miss multiple weeks due to the hamstring injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. As of now, it appears Samuel will avoid a trip to the IR.
“49ers HC Kyle Shanahan told reporters that WR Deebo Samuel is expected to miss ‘at least a couple of weeks' with the hamstring injury he suffered Sunday in Seattle,” Schefter reported.
That's the bad news. The good news is that Bosa, along with Kyle Juszczyk and James Thompson Jr., are all in the mix to be available for the 49ers' Week 6 matchup against the Washington Commanders, per Matt Barrows of The Athletic. The eight-year veteran has not played since sustaining a calf injury in the club's 35-13 Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins.
