HOUSTON --  helped the Braves secure a postseason berth and also joined another exclusive home run club in a 6-2 win over the Astros on Friday night at Daikin Park.

When Olson hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning, he joined Hank Aaron (eight), Eddie Mathews (four), Ronald Acuña Jr. (two) and Andruw Jones (two) as the only players to tally multiple 40-homer seasons for the Braves.

“Yeah, he's pretty good,” Braves center fielder Michael Harris II said. “He puts some good swings on balls, and obviously he does it every year. He's pretty consistent.” 

Olson became the second Braves player to produce a 50-homer season when he set a franchise record with 54 home runs in 2023, which bested Andruw Jones’ 51 homers in 2005.

Going back to 2018, Olson’s first full season as a big leaguer, the Braves' first baseman ranks fourth in the Majors with 303 home runs. The only players who have hit more during this span are Kyle Schwarber (339), Aaron Judge (330) and Shohei Ohtani (310).
