Angel Reese becomes investor in major basketball project bringing new team to city
Chicago Sky star Angel Reese is continuing to build her portfolio away from the court.
This time around, she is going beyond the borders of the United States.

On 11 March, Reese was involved in a major announcement made by the Brisbane Bullets, a men’s basketball team in Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL).
“Global basketball icon and entrepreneur @angel.reese is investing in Brisbane’s effort to bring a WNBL franchise to the city, but joining the bf for the league’s 10th licence,” the team posted on Instagram
She will be joining a prospective ownership group spearheaded by investor and Bullets owner Jason Levien, and fellow owner and local Ben Haan.
The announcement follows Reese’s visit to Australia with Reebok to unveil the new colorways of her signature Angel Reese 1 basketball shoe, and announce the brands partnership with the WNBL.
This latest off-court venture is just one of the many involvements she has added to her portfolio.
The former LSU Tigers star bought a stake in the women’s professional soccer team DC Power FC in 2024.
She is also listed as a co-founder of media and commerce company TOGETHXR alongside other notable female athletes.
The 23-year-old also has endorsement deals with Reebook, Airbnb, Beats by Dre and Goldman Sachs.
Bullets CEO Malcolm Wells would go on to share his endorsements of the 22-year-old.
“Angel is a fantastic ambassador for basketball and a globally recognized superstar,” said Wells via the team’s website.

“She has proven there is no ceiling for female athletes, and that is a powerful message for kids picking up a basketball in Brisbane.
“Basketball is Queensland’s fastest growing sport, and having Angel involved as we pursue a WNBL team is a huge asset.”
Reese sends message ahead of Team USA debut
On the court, Reese was a dominating force for the Sky in what turned out to be a disappointing season in the WNBA.
In 30 games, she averaged 14.7 points on 45.8 percent shooting, a league-best 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.6 minutes per game.
Despite her strong season, they finished with a 10-34 record, tying the Dallas Wings for the worst record in the league.
However, her performance did result in her being selected for Team USA at the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.

She headlines the younger group alongside Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever, and 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers.
“It’s such an honor to wear my uniform, my jersey. I’m so happy,” Reese said in an Instagram post by Team USA ahead of their opening game against Senegal on Wednesday.
“Just being able to take women’s basketball everywhere I go worldwide, I’m so excited.
“It’s an honor to play for USA basketball because there are so many greats who’ve played here and worn the same jersey. So, just continue the footsteps, continue the legacy of what women’s basketball means.”
