Delhi Capitals Women produced an all-round performance to defeat Mumbai Indians Women by seven wickets in Match 13 of the Women’s Premier League at the Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara, on January 20. Chasing a target of 155, DC Women reached 155/3 in 19 overs, with six balls to spare.

Asked to field first after winning the toss, Delhi's Marizanne Kapp bowled a brilliant spell, dismissing Hayley Matthews and keeping things tight in the powerplay. Mumbai Indians found stability through captain Harmanpreet Kaur (41) and Nat Sciver-Brunt, who anchored the innings with an unbeaten 65 off 45 balls. However, just when MI looked set for a bigger total, Shree Charani’s three-wicket burst in the middle overs got them back. MI eventually finished on 154/5, around 10-15 runs short of a par score.

In reply, Shafali Verma and Lizelle Lee gave DC a solid start, adding 63 for the first wicket. While the chase slowed after Lee’s dismissal, skipper Jemimah Rodrigues played an impressive knock, scoring an unbeaten 51 to guide her team home. Kapp sealed the win with a six in the final over.

With this victory, Delhi Capitals Women moved to four points from five matches and remain fourth on the points table, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Mumbai Indians Women, despite the loss, stay second.
