West Ham v Bournemouth prediction
West Ham will head into Saturday evening’s Premier League clash in confident mood, with just one defeat in their last seven, a stretch of games which includes five wins, seeing them as one of the form teams in the division as they bid to climb out of the relegation zone.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have been dwelling in the bottom three of the Premier League table since early December, but a stretch of five games in which they’ve picked up 10 points, has seen them climb to within three points from safety heading into this weekend.
The only points dropped in their recent run of matches have been against Chelsea and Manchester United, both in perhaps their best form of the campaign, and has also seen them navigate successfully through to the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time in three years.
Only bottom of the table Wolves have lost more Premier League matches at home this season than the Hammers, though the east London side have experienced an upturn in home form in recent weeks, losing just one of their last five at the London Stadium, albeit with only one league win seven.
Bournemouth will make the trip to the capital this weekend in a fine run of form of their own, unbeaten in their last six Premier League matches and with three wins in their last four, a vein of results which has seen them reignite their ambitions of European football.
Andoni Iraola’s side were as low as 15th in the table as less than a month ago, but 10 points picked up in their last four games has seen them climb into ninth place and will head into the weekend just three points off the top seven, with no team having picked up more points in their last six games.
The Cherries head to the London Stadium having won back to back away matches for the first team this season following their 2-1 win at Everton 11 days ago, and will fancy themselves at closing the gap on the top seven even further, perhaps breaking into them.
The south coast side are winless in their last 10 matches against West Ham, but six of those games, including five of the last six and each of the last three, have ended in stalemates, and I envisage this trend to continue – I’m backing a 1-1 draw.
West Ham v Bournemouth betting tips
Yet another Hammers-Cherries stalemate
Both sides head into Saturday evening’s clash in strong form, with West Ham losing one of their last seven and Bournemouth unbeaten in six.
Five of the last six games, including each of the last three, between the two teams have ended in a draw and there’s nothing to suggest that that trend will be bucked this weekend.
- Draw and both teams to score at 7/2 with Midnite
Rayan is getting it right
The 19-year-old only joined Bournemouth in January following a £25m move from Brazilian side Vasco da Gama, but Rayan has very much hit the ground running in the Premier League.
Contributing an assist off the bench on debut against Wolves, the Brazilian teenager has since found the net on each of his two starts since, and will back himself to make it goals in three consecutive appearances this weekend in the capital.
- Rayan to score at 2/1 with Sky Bet
Sanctions for the Cherries’ Spaniard
No player on either team has been on the receiving end of as many yellow cards as Bournemouth’s on loan right back Alex Jimenez.
The Spanish defender started the season at AC Milan before heading to the Dorset coast on loan with an obligation to buy, and has been cautioned on eight occasions so far in the Premier League, including in each of his last three appearances.
- Alex Jimenez to be booked at 5/2 with Midnite
