Bossman Jack won well last time out over Starzand but that form doesn’t necessarily carry over that well as he failed to finish well next time out.

Bossman Jack could still be much better though as he was that comfortable in victory, but I’d prefer Bobby’s Nelson or Swindon Village over the Skelton horse for more value at the time of writing.

Swindon Village should benefit from dropping back in trip from 3m last time out back to a preferred two and a half miles.

Bobby’s Nelson here who was up against it in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter in December facing 1/3 favourite Baron Noir, and he was challenging to the end which was more than encouraging.

Justified that form when stepped up in trip at Ffos Las last month winning with plenty in hand on soft ground under Sean Houlihan.

But Swindon Village’s form just keeps looking better, he beat Lon Chaney who then went on to win by a mile next time out and should be a close contest regardless.

Pimlico Point

Heeztheboy beat the favourite Paddy O’Mahler at Wetherby by a mile in November but that was when he was rated 21lb lower and is certainly the second choice if pitting them in a match.

Especially given Paddy O’Mahler’s two wins recently that show he’s well equipped for this 3m trip.

However, I quite like Pimlico Point returning to form dropping back in class and it’s quite a good sign he’s back so quickly after pulling up at Wincanton.

Now with a tongue tie and blinkers rather than tongue tie and cheekpieces, which could help prompt further improvement along with the horse being dropped another 3lb.
