The Caribbean batter smashed 53 off just 27 balls, continuing his purple patch in the tournament. Dewald Brevis also contributed with a decisive 34 off 19 balls. For Cape Town, Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged two wickets in four overs, conceding just 33 runs.

In reply, Cape Town got off to a slow start, losing their openers in the powerplay. Reeza Hendricks battled hard, remaining unbeaten on 68 off 50 balls. However, he didn't receive much support from his teammates as Rashid and Co. were restricted to 132/7 in 20 overs. Gideon Peters finished with the best figures in the match of 3/32 in four overs.
