Udonis Haslem gives Victor Wembanyama props for standing up for himself in Game 4
The fallout continues for Victor Wembanyama following his ejection from Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Sunday. While some are criticizing his elbow to Naz Reid during the San Antonio Spurs’ 114-109 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, others are giving him some unlikely props.
One of those is former NBA player-turned-analyst, Udonis Haslem, who, on Tuesday, told his Prime colleague he liked seeing the fight in Wemby.
“I don’t agree with anybody getting hurt, but sometimes you have to take a stand and draw a line in the sand, and that’s what Wemby did last night,” Haslem said via NBA on Prime.

In the second quarter, Wemby was going for a rebound when he got tangled up with Reid and Jaden McDaniels. Then, in a hasty moment, Wemby proceeds to hit Reid in the chin with his right elbow. After a review, the officials ruled it a Flagrant 2, which is an automatic ejection. It marked the first time in Wemby’s career that he had been ejected from a game.
In the end, he finished with only four points and four rebounds in only twelve minutes of play. However, Wemby will not face any suspension for Game 5.
Despite the ejection, Wemby continues to be the Spurs’ go-to guy during this postseason. In eight games, he is averaging 28.5 minutes, 19.6 points, and 10.5 rebounds per game.
The series switches to San Antonio for a critical Game 5, and the series is tied at two apiece. Game 6 will be back in Minnesota, and Game 7 will be in San Antonio.
